Finally!!! I've had some time in the sewing room this week -- not as much as I would like, but since life gets into the way, I think I did OK. My numbers:
Added: 0 yards
Used: 14 yards
YTD Added: 4 yards
YTD Used: 356.25 yards
Stash Used: 352.25
Completed this week: 13 fabric bags for the Bags for Kids Project, 18 fabric wallets (no home for these yet.
Projects for this coming week: fabric wallets ( 10 FQ's pressed, ready to cut, another 1.5 yards pressed ready to cut into wallets). I have no idea how I ended up with so many FQ's in my stash, but fabric wallets are a good way to use them up - 279 completed so far this year. There is a good sale on July 31 at the LQS - I would love to go, but would bring home "stuff" that is entirely unplanned. I do have fabric to donate for the cancer quilts for Native American's at the same shop, but.... if, I could only donate and not buy. I am feeling the "need" to make a quilt -- all the other sewing is fine, but it just doesn't satisfy the itch. I have the reds pulled for Judy's Big Star quilt, not started though. I have to make a quilt for a toddler - I have the pattern and fabrics (another scrap quilt), so there are quilts to be made.
And, the only crisis of the week: I woke up on Saturday a.m. and noticed something wet under the ironing board as I walked through the house. At first I blamed it on my darling Wrigley, but investigation showed it was not Wrigley's fault (he got an extra treat for that). Yup, the darned iron decided to leak all by itself sometime in the night. I have become a non-shopper, especially since I am on a fabric "diet". As I sat here reading my email, I quietly said to DH, "I have to go shopping today." I think he broke a record for head spins - as he absorbed my statement. I added, "My iron is dead, it leaked all other the ironing board and onto the floor." Within two hours, I had showered, done some internet research, stopped at In 'N Out for a burger for breakfast (why waste a perfectly good trip), bought a new iron, and was home. Today has to be a better day. At least there's no shopping on my list....
Check out Judy's blog to see what fun others are having! Have a great week!!
Shopping is bad! I hate to shop for anything other than fabric. I can understand your feelings.
ReplyDeleteOne time I had a quilt sitting on my ironing board and it had red in it. The iron leaked and the red ran. Lucky for me, I got most of the bleeding out but I still use that leaky iron. By the way, it's a Rowenta Focus and I heard they are notoriuos for leaking. I try not to leave any water in it and never fill it up too much. What a pain but it's the hottest iron I've ever used.
