Stash Report - September 19, 2010

It's still hot in Arizona - most days this week were in the 105* range, and the heat holds through mid-week.  These hot days make good days in the sewing room.  This weeks numbers:

Added:  0 yards
Used:  11 yards
YTD Added:  4 yards
YTD Used:  434 yards
Stash Used:  430 yards

A back ordered skein of sock yarn arrived.  It was great timing as I had just finished my last pair of socks:

on Tuesday evening and then the post man arrives on Wednesday with some back ordered  sock yarn:

I couldn't wait to start and today I am close to the toe decreases on the first sock.  I love the way this is knitting into stripes.

And to the quilting:  Rocket Man quilt top has been assembled and (finally) photo taken:

I'm pleased with the quilt top and hope my soon to be two year old great nephew likes it as much as I do.  I will back the quilt with fabric with stars and hand quilt it.  I hope to get it sandwiched today.

On the sewing list for the week are more scrub tops for my DIL, my son pulled out the fabric last week from the stash, it's been preshrunk and is ready to cut out.  I want to start working on Judy's new quilt - fabric is chosen from the stash  for the first blocks.   I'm hoping for a productive week in the sewing room since it is still hot!  It's too hot to be outside to do much!  Have a great week and check out Judy's blog to see what others are doing.

  1. That is pretty yarn. I never learned to knit but with yarn that pretty it may not be too late. That Rocket man quilt is really nice. Great job.

  2. if it's that warm--does it ever get cold enough to WEAR those socks?? I'm coming to visit you in January. Nah, that means I would have to go outside of my warm house. Poor DH gets stuck with a lot of the outside errands in the winter.
