Stash Report - Week 16

It has been a good week in my sewing room.  After not being as productive as I should have been during Week 15, I got back with the program!!  My numbers for this last week:

Added:  0 yards
Used:  8.25
YTD Added: 4 yards
YTD Used:  203.50
Busted:  199.50

My thread used count has increased to 13 spools used with none purchased this year.  Every time I open another box I seem to find more thread.  I think it multiplies like dust bunnies!!!!

This week I completed:  1 elephant for donation in December, two throw pillows for a gift, and two baby quilts that are ready to be sandwiched today and hand quilted.  I have even cut the binding before sandwiching the quilt - usually I cut binding when I am ready to use it.  But, I liked Judy's way of cutting the binding when she cuts the quilt, so I have tried it.  The two baby quilts are made from panels I purchased at a  sewing expo last summer.  Imagine my surprise when I undid the beautifully package panels to find they were only 18" wide, but 43" long.  I've added borders to both side to make them wide enough, but did not trim the length - I would have lost the bunny trim on both ends.  They look a little wonky now, but I think when they are quilted and bound they will be fine.  I'll take pictures and post them at the completion point.

In addition, I have finished another pair of socks and have the next pair started.  Just can't have those needles idle - my knitting is the fill in for those evenings when no handwork is ready.  Also completed this last week were the  Sunbonnet Baby quilt blocks that I have been embroidering.  I haven't counted the blocks yet, but will this coming week when I add the sashing and borders and get it ready to sandwich.  I haven't checked my stash yet to see what I have!!!  No trip to the local quilt store is planned.

Next week's sewing and quilting is planned.  I have fabric to make an aloha shirt for my DS, and fabric for three pairs of boxer shorts for my DH and the Sunbonnet Baby quilt to ready for hand quilting.  Isn't it amazing what you find when you start working in the stash - or cleaning my fabric room one yard at a time!!!

Happy sewing this week - and check Judy's blog  to see what everyone else has accomplished this week.

  4. 200 yards used, wow. I am speechless. That must make quite a dent in your available stash and you are going strong. Congrats!
