Stash Report - Week 15

Not much sewing has happened at my house this week.  I do have two more baby quilts ready to sandwich and start the hand quilting.  I have 148 bags ready to take down and donate to the Bags for Kids Project.  Another elephant as been completed and is residing in the chair with six others that will become Christmas gifts for needy children.  My numbers:

Fabric Added:  0 yards
Fabric Used: 3 yards
YTD Added:  4 yards
YTD Used:  195.25
Net Used:  191.25

I finished two spools of thread this week, bringing the total used this year to 13 spools, none added.  Projects this coming week include:  sandwiching the two quilt tops, cutting/making a shirt for DS and some boxers for my DH.  I have been embroidering some Sunbonnet Baby quilt blocks, and am down to the last two blocks.  These were started almost four years ago this coming June, and i should be able to get the blocks finished this coming week and assemble the top.  I had forgotten them - and with the Stash Busting, they came to light and I pulled them out and use them as "fill-ins" when there is no hand quilting ready and my arm hurts too much to knit.  A sock was finished this week and its mate was started.  I have to admit, that some yarn arrived for another pair of socks!  I may have to do "sock yarn busting" next year.

I went with a friend to CowGirl-Up Quilts in Benson, Arizona yesterday.  We were chatting as we drove along, I stated that I wished I could just donate all the fabric I have -- and buy fabric to quilt with when I wanted to make a quilt. She was shocked!!  Some days it is hard to go to a quilt shop and not shop, but then I think of the stash at home -- no fabric was purchased.  I was lucky - a friend of mine that I hadn't seen in a year was teaching a class at this little shop, so it was good to catch up with her.  And it was good news to learn that the shop is moving to a larger shop on May 1.  It's not quite two years old now so it is excellent that she needs more space.

Check out Judy's blog to see how others have done this week!  Happy sewing!!!
