Stash Report -October 17, 2010

I have had a good week!  I worked from my list from last week and did OK with it, not perfect, but goals always help me.  My numbers this week:

Fabric Added:  0 yards
Fabric Used:  11 yards
YTD Added:  4 yards
YTD Used:  475 yards
Stash Used:  471 yards

One more spool of thread was used bringing my total to 30 spools for the year - 3 of those spools are hand quilting thread!  Never in my life did I think I was using this much thread - it's good to track it, at least for me.

I have hand quilted the design on two sides of the Rocket Man quilt - I hope to finish it this coming week.  The pink scrub top has been completed along with two fabric wallets from the scraps.  I wanted to start knitting a new pair of socks and here is my first sock:

I have the mate started and am working on the leg portion of that sock.

My other goal was to get the I Spy quilt blocks laid out and that was done:

Last night I sewed the blocks together and have it ready to sandwich (when I make the backing.  It's all made from my scrap basket - nothing purchased for this quilt.  The backing will be fabric with dog bones - and I will applique a Scottie to the back.

This will be a donation quilt to AVIVA for a child for Christmas.  AVIVA always provides gifts and Christmas stockings for all the children under their "umbrella".

And, finally, my DIL loved the Breast Cancer Awareness scrub top that I made for her.  She is extremely active in fund raising for a variety of good causes and was lamenting the fact that the scrub top I made her four years ago from the pink ribbon fabric was worn out.  I wandered into Hancock Fabric for buttons and by the door was a black/white print fabric (almost like bandanna fabric) with pink ribbons.  I got it for her - since none of it was added to my stash nor purchased for my use, I didn't add it to my totals.  It came in the door on Saturday, and left on Monday morning.  That's a pretty quick turn around for me!!!!

I hope you have all had good weeks in the sewing room.  I'll be knitting, hand quilting, and sandwiching a quilt this week - but it will be a short week - eye surgery on Friday morning and my son comes on Saturday with my granddogs.   We'll be dog sitting while they have a vacation.  Check out Judy's blog to see what everyone else has done this week.  Have a great week!!!

  2. wow! you have really stayed out of the fabric stores this year. I like the black strip in the center of your string block. It looks good.
