The Arizona weather has started too cool for fall - nights are in the high 50's and the days are in the mid 90's. It's still sewing weather at this house. The numbers for the week:
Added: 0 yards
Used: 18.25 yards
YTD Added: 4 yards
YTD Used: 464 yards
Stash Used: 460 yards
I'm also trying to use thread that I have instead of purchasing. So far this year I have used 29 spools of thread. This number includes 3 complete spools of hand quilting thread! I thought I was doing great and then was getting some "fancy fabrics" read to give away and found another box and a half of thread!!!! It doesn't seem that the thread manufacturers and I will be doing business soon.
By the end of the Fontana, CA race today I will have completed seven scrub tops for my DIL this week. Five are black and the others are a pink print and a black and white print. She likes to tops that button. so I'm getting practice making button holes Rocket Man quilt is hand quilted down to the last border. I think I am going to do shooting stars in the outside border. It's looking pretty good now - especially since completion is getting closer! The next quilt will be a donation quilt - I have 60+ blocks that are 8 1/2": square that will be assembled for a charity quilt. This quilt will be tied, The backing will be unique - I have one fabric with doggie bones on it that I have enough of - I have decided to applique a puppy on it and use it for the back. I think there will be a little boy under the CPS umbrella that will like the double sided quilt.
Goals for the coming week:
1. Finish scrub tops today
2. Assemble donation quilt
3. Make the backing for the quilt
4. Start another pair of socks
5. Complete two sides of the outside border for Rocket Man
A friend who moved to Sun City, Arizona will be coming to Tucson on Wednesday for her eye appointment and we have planned to go to a couple of quilt shops after -- assuming her eyes aren't dilated. She hasn't said if she will be spending the night, but I am hoping so! Viola married in June and moved to Sun City -- you never realize how dear quilting friends can get! Have a great week - check out Judy's blog to see how we are all doing!
Oh my gosh, I don't know how you and Judy L can both use up so much yardage. I sew a lot and have used about half of what you have.
